FAO International Art Competition
The Young Hands Together for Diversity International Art Competition is part of global initiatives for the education of young people regarding the issue of biodiversity . From information to actively participate in protecting the planet, starting from the care for the place where you live. The theme of this competition is the BIODIVERSITY 'and what this means for young people around the world. The design that wins will be used to produce the badge for the activity "Young Hands Together for Diversity."
The competition is open to all young people aged between 6 and 20 years, divided into three categories: 6? 10 years, 11? 15 years and 16? 20 years. The contest will close on July 10, 2010 (deadline fixed for June 15, has been extended). We warmly invite you to participate!
Last year there were 1400 participants who have sent their designs from 46 different countries. The organizers of the competition are Bioversity International (BI), the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
General rules:
- The design must be original.
- It should reflect the theme of biodiversity (the wonderful variety of species we have on our planet, the richness of our ecosystem, reasons for which you are dying, things that people are doing to protect it, etc.).
- Should be submitted on A4 paper and drawn in a circle or square. The diameter of the circle or the side of the square should be 18cm. (Download the form from page 6-7 of the files that are attached below).
- They can be used pastels, pencils and paintbrushes as well as computer graphics programs as long as you use the bold format.
- Names are not allowed to persons, organizations or brands.
- Use your imagination, but more importantly: HAVE FUN!
