Polis - The city of Scout

Four years ago our community leaders, after several attempts in previous years, there has been a success, possibly because the time was not ripe yet, found the courage to venture into the streams of what was then (s) known, as "Scouting boat." (PE n. 31 of 12.12.2005)

I say strange, because in fact most of us had no idea (almost completely ignorant) of what could be and lead to the choice to become a marine scout. You probably thought the use of canoes and dinghies ... an end in itself, and ... enough.

Instead, with the time we began to better understand what lay behind the unfathomable recesses of this "water environment" and to appreciate the opportunities that, year after year, we offered this choice.

Definitely a different world to explore, additional stimuli for boys and for us leaders, new opportunities for passing "messages" that Scouting, only land, not offered. It has since been a series of activities and events that have raised our department and especially the boys and girls who belong to it.

Today, turning back to look at the long line drawn on water, I can not but be surprised at how our group was able to build in these four years. But much remains to be done. More research to better exploit the endless opportunities offered by this educational environment, especially as more involved and encourage the leaders of Branca R / S, to give continuity to the choices made in his time as Community Leaders.

There remains only one big problem (some malicious will say only one?) That, at least for now, could not be resolved. We are the only Department Nautico of Sardinia , with all that implies. And for this reason that we started with a campaign of spreading the "virus acqueus", rest assured that as soon as the epidemic will spread among the leaders (note: Why are the heads of the most resistant to infection). In the meantime we want to address an invitation to all "land groups": "Do not be afraid" to venture into the water.

At first, as it was for us, ignorance (meaning lack of knowledge) of this learning environment can make thousands of questions arise, you will realize, however, after some time, it was just a false problem, or better problems not im-possible to solve. A touch of madness and creativity as we own, and ... You will then have lost, in the meantime, a multitude of opportunities that enlargement of the educational environment would offer you water.

Any normal kid has (or I hope he has) the desire, at one time or another, during his teenage years, to escape the sea. Well, we give them the means to become a sailor and an adventurer, albeit on a smaller scale, and then he buys, thanks to his enthusiasm, many manly virtues, on the physical, mental and moral.
