Greenpeace is a non-violent direct action to report that uses a creative environmental problems and promote solutions for a green future and peace. Greenpeace is independent and does not accept funding from government agencies, companies or political parties.
With almost three million supporters worldwide, Greenpeace is one of the largest environmental movements of the world. Greenpeace is based on the principles of nonviolence, is independent of any political party does not accept financial support from either governments or by private companies and is financed solely by contributions from individuals who share the ideals and mission.
Greenpeace is formed by a network of interdependent national and regional offices who are working with Greenpeace International, Amsterdam. The role of Greenpeace International is to initiate and coordinate programs and campaign activities. Each national or regional office working on some or all of the priorities established by the International, although this does not prevent the national offices to set priorities at the local level that can also lead to a real campaign.
Greenpeace International is financed by the national offices which, in turn, living off the donations made by supporters of the respective countries. All offices are required to support Greenpeace International with 18% of their revenue, while Greenpeace International, as well as international finance campaigns, to ensure maintenance of the fleet and invest in scientific research and technological innovation, working on international campaigns in specific countries key and helps economically smaller offices that are unable to finance itself.
