Impeesa - the great adventure of Baden Powell

A one year from now, I realized that I had not bought the comic Impeesa - the great adventure of Baden Powell, published by Lizard on the occasion of the centenary of Scouting. I only knew that the text had been prepared by Paul Fizzarotti (director of the magazine) and we were lucky enough to meet the wishes of the great designer and colloborazione Ivo Milazzo.
I decided then to buy the comic, the Feltrinelli there, but I can order in 5 days with no problems and is in my hands. I must admit that at first glance, I was a little 'disappointed by the format (but it's simply a matter of taste), I got discouraged and I continued my investigation exterior and the smell of paper did not leave room for any more doubt would enjoy reading.
I'm not really a devourer of comics , I 'tasted' something, even a rather different genres, but not the kind of reading that I prefer, but I thoroughly enjoyed Impeesa: i have been drawing , so rich in detail perfectly fine though watercolor , the story has been told (single, small, neo is perhaps the script, at times a bit too 'spoken' that seems to want to impose a break all'incenssante flow of images that sometimes we seem to live), will be the transparency of intentions or the intelligence of the project ...
The plotline is the story of our founder to an unknown friend (eventually discovers who he is, but I can not tell me everything!) Of the events that helped shape the idea that changed the destinies of millions of boys and girls throughout the world. So it's not just the reconstruction of the life of Baden Powell before 1908, but it is a journey in search of tracks that, together, build the long path towards scaut ...
And so, through the telling of several stories, we learn that many of the boring recommendations made by the heads usually come directly from the mother of BP, such as, for example, walking with a few clothes and have the shirt on hand to immediately put on him to prevent the cold sweat upon us and make us sick.
Following the fortunes of Sir Robert around the world discover some of the deepest values of Scouting, such as the importance of dialogue and cooperation between peoples, the choice of the example with better means to transmit knowledge and to be trusted, the ability know how to take the initiative when necessary, without having to always wait orders.
In conclusion, I really liked it! Beautiful the end result however laudable initiative. The centennial occasion to open scaut best in the world, to introduce the company and maybe take the opportunity to take away some of Dosse 'of clichés and jokes. Surely this comic will be able to do so, always able to be read by someone who is not scaut! Deserve, in fact, much more disclosure outside the movement, starting with our brothers AGESCI: there are many people I talked to had never heard anything about this beautiful balloon.
Wishing to enjoy very soon enjoy reading this, I salute you!

Impeesa: Baden Powell, what an adventure! (Comic)
Baden Powell a century ago founded the Scouts, and this I know just about everyone. But do you know the true story of BP before they decide to abandon the military career to devote himself to Scouting? Perhaps you imagine that our elderly little man with a mustache, who smiles at us from countless drawings and photographs, was once a young strong and vigorous. But did you know, for example, who was also the secret agent? What was he to lead the way in the African jungle to defeat the Ashanti, a population that made human sacrifices? What was the last British to leave Kandahar, Afghanistan? (Oh well, then we have returned). What has been all over the world including spy missions and military campaigns?
BP did you know that as a boy not yet called Baden-Powell, but Powell Robert Smyth, who had a lot of brothers and sisters? Our BP went to school this lily sbrogliarsela but he knew in any situation with the inventive and always with a smile. And when by chance did the competition to join the army as an officer, turned out so good that the military leaders abbuonarono years of training and sent him directly in India as a lieutenant.
BP was good at drawing, and could paint a picture with both hands simultaneously.

No one knew him and read as dressing up in a few minutes so that nobody could recognize him. It was he who invented the South African police and army to teach English as you do the surveys and how to read the tracks. And you know how did you know Olave, the girl who would later become his wife? BP has had a life as adventurous as to seem incredible. The CNGEI, to celebrate the centenary of Scouting world, has decided to do something special: a cartoon book on BP.
The volume, entitled Impeesa, was released in late June of 2007. The script, and that the story is Paul Fizzarotti, the director of "Scouting" (the magazine of the association CNGEI). The drawings are by Ivo Milazzo, one of the greatest masters of the comic world: he is, just as an example, the inventor of Ken Parker, one of the most beloved characters in western Italy.
What does "Impeesa"? But it is easy: "The animal that never sleeps, but wanders in the night." It was a nickname for the Zulus called Baden Powell. When? To find out, just read the book!

I saw it. At my age ... green! Seventy played!
I loved it and I regret that many do not know what we're talking about.
It is, as you say, certainly a problem of information.
But it is mainly the disease from which we are afflicted everyone: rapidly consumed (when we have the drive and desire) and often consumed without observing and understanding; look a bit 'better than what we have near (below the nose) without asking the whys have determined and the consequences that could have and did not. Individualism and carelessness to buy more! Iconoclasm ruling of what you do not know.
As a scout, as movements that addottano learning the basics we need better calibrarci on assets today.

E 'is a work that was missing in the comics scene is among the titles dedicated to Scouting.
Really a nice idea that has also met with critical acclaim and won several awards, surely one of the most effective initiatives for the centenary.

Impeesa I really liked it!! I'm not a connoisseur of good comics, but at home I turned my "precious" because my father, an excellent draftsman, until the end of his days (2004-to 89) he was an avid reader and they will certainly be devoured!
Beautiful graphics, importatissimo can disseminate the message that the outside of the movement, in this world of often ill-promotion and irresponsibility, as we should do more to spread SENIOR Impeesa in an effort to reach more children and adults especially not Scouts. I think it is an excellent educational vehicle, definitely "leave this world a little better (much better) of how we found it."

Simply awesome: a great comic quality, designs and colors tell where fantastic landscapes in which to slide the perhaps less well known in the history of the founder of Scouting. A small masterpiece in my opinion is a must in the library of a scout.

Cool. A cartoon of high quality, through colors and patterns tells of the fantastic landscapes in which there was the perhaps less well known part of the life of the founder of Scouting. I think a book can not fail in the library of a scout.

I met Paul Fizzarotti his departure for the 2007 Jamboree and on that occasion I had in my hands the English version of the work. At Christmas 2007 I received the Italian version.
A wonderful book, essential to the narrative as in the drawings, but full of feelings and ideas. Perhaps it is the personal passion for comic books! I hope to know soon Ivo Milazzo and Paul meet again.

Maybe because I read comic books since I was 4 years and a half and I have not stopped,
I read that Mickey Mouse will still vying with my 9 year old son for who reads it first,
will be that I am convinced that comics are a narrative language for all ages that has nothing to envy to a classic book author,
I entered the world will scout for a few years,
but the advice I can give, and scout, and take half an hour, pick up this book, open it carefully and immerse yourself in reading baloons, catapult in beautiful watercolor drawings can also convey sounds and odors , as they began to read will not want to stop until the word END.

As a young man who studies the world of comics I enjoyed during the reading, the jump in time when BP tells an episode of his life occurred long before.
Plus I really liked the drawing to watercolor because in this world, where almost all the comics are drawn to the computer, I got to know and appreciate this type of technique now rarely used.
Read it, and I assure you that will surprise you too!

The work is so inspiring that I have taken a course in comparative education all'Unviersità of Modena and Reggio Emilia, to understand how things are born from deep feelings, that from the first ideas.

Thank you.
